Wedding Venue Spotlight: Arbor at The Port

Published February 28th, 2020 by Chef's Catering

Agathi Georgiou-Graham is what you’d call a wedding visionary. She and her husband Zachary have renovated several properties around Rochester, turning them into beautiful settings for nuptials. Arbor at the Port, the second venue the couple has opened, has the same elegant yet rustic look and feel as their first, Arbor Loft. However, it also has twice as much space and a waterfront location, which gives it a lighter and brighter, more nature-inspired, vibe.

Another bonus is the abundance of photo opportunities provided by the Port and its surroundings, including Charlotte Pier, the Historic Dentzel Carousel built in 1905, and, of course, Lake Ontario itself.

Georgiou-Graham’s vision, when she created Arbor at the Port, was to give couples in and around Rochester “the venue they’ve always dreamed of, and it’s local.” When you book Arbor at the Port, the space is entirely yours. The venue is designed to serve as the perfect backdrop for any wedding vision, with white walls, tall windows adorned with sheer white curtains, and light natural wood-look flooring. Off-white tiered candle chandeliers add a touch of elegance, while remaining neutral enough to coordinate with any theme or decor.

You can hire Agathi & Co., a full-service wedding planning service owned and operated by Georgiou-Graham, to give your event her special touch, or bring your own vision to the space. While the venue offers wedding packages that include catering and other services, it also allows you the freedom to bring in your own caterers and other vendors such as Chef’s Catering. The only caveat is that, with a few exceptions, guests must use the Arbor’s bar and cannot provide their own alcoholic beverages.

In terms of capacity, at over 12,000 square feet, Arbor at the Port can accommodate 450 to 600 guests. Rental includes access to over 2,000 square feet of outdoor riverside space and views. Also included in the rental fee are tables, Chiavari chairs, floor-length table linens and cloth napkins, ceremony assistance, set-up and tear-down service, service coordination, bar and bar staff. While some couples opt to hold their wedding at another location and the reception at the Port, many also hold the wedding itself at the venue. A bridal suite is also available.
