Bridal Shower Brunch Catering in Rochester: Menus and Timing That Work

Published September 30th, 2026 by Chef's Catering

A bridal shower is one of the few events where the host is usually a volunteer. A maid of honor, a mother, an aunt, someone with a full life of their own who has agreed to feed thirty people on a Sunday morning. Brunch is the natural format for it, and it is also the format where catering makes the biggest difference to the person hosting.

Here is how to plan a bridal shower brunch in Rochester, from the menu to the timing, so the host gets to enjoy it too.

Why Brunch Works for a Shower

A late morning start suits almost everyone on the guest list, from grandmothers to friends driving in from out of town. The food is familiar and crowd pleasing, the event has a natural two to three hour shape, and nobody expects a formal seated dinner. It also leaves the rest of the day free, which guests appreciate more than they say.

A Menu Guests Actually Eat

Shower guests tend to graze and talk, so the best menus are easy to eat from a small plate. From our sample breakfast and brunch menu:

  • Vegetable quiche and western quiche
  • Rosemary homefries
  • House-made muffins, scones and danish
  • Seasonal fresh fruit
  • Assorted juices

From there it can go wherever the bride's tastes go. Every menu is customized, and you can start with our breakfast and brunch menus.

The Mimosa Bar

If there is one addition worth making, it is this. A mimosa bar gives guests something to do when they arrive and makes the room feel like a celebration right away. Ours includes champagne with orange, pineapple and cranberry juices, and it is one of our bar packages.

Do Not Forget Dessert

Showers are a natural fit for a Sweets Table. Each one is customized, and colors and themes are considered when we plan it, so it can match the rest of the shower. Italian cookies, cannoli, specialty cupcakes and a cake are all on the table, literally. See desserts and Sweets Tables.

A Timeline That Works

For a shower that starts at 11:

  • 11:00. Guests arrive. Coffee, juice and the mimosa bar are open.
  • 11:30. Brunch is served while everyone is still fresh.
  • 12:15. Games or a toast, with dessert out on the table.
  • 12:45. Gifts.
  • 1:30 to 2:00. Guests head home, and the host is not left with a kitchen to clean.

At Home or at a Venue

We cater showers in homes, clubhouses and rented rooms across the Rochester area, either as a simple drop-off or with staff who serve and clean up. If you would rather not host at home, Chef's Event Center & Party House in Spencerport is our own venue, with our kitchen on site.

How Far Ahead to Book

Spring and early summer weekends fill first, because that is when most showers happen. As soon as you have a date and a rough guest count, get in touch. The menu details can be settled later.
